Mapping Identities
Manchester, 2025
Participants had the opportunity to create their own maps and collages, reflecting on their unique psychogeography experiences. Each person was provided with a diverse selection of tools and materials, allowing them to freely express a range of emotions through textures. Although the workshop was guided for the first 30 mins, there was so much freedom and everyone is encouraged to utilise the materials in their own personal and expressive manner.
participants found associations between locations and emotions through words, shapes and colors. This session offered materials and focus on creating art pieces that reflect everyone’s own experience.
The aim of the workshop is to encourage people to reflect on how different places affect them and how these experiences can have long-lasting impacts. Additionally, I would like to inspire participants to find easier ways to start a new art piece and to use their life experiences as a creative resource
